Catalog Description:

C.1895, Symphonion, Style 30A, double comb disc playing music box with a selection of discs. The well figured mahogany case houses a well made system with tempo regulator under the lid and on-off button on the left, outside, in the center of the carrying handle. The discs are 13 5/8" in diameter and are arranged in sublime harmony, and playing on two combs with a total of 99 teeth (one tooth is missing, but does not affect the playing noticeably). The case has been refinished and has a couple of small veneer repairs, and veneer is loose in one small spot, but overall the box is in very good condition, with all original hardware intact, and with attractive floral marquetry on the lid. This model box is illustrated in Bower's Encyclopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments, page 223, top left. Width of the box is 22", and height is 11 inches
