EN Welch Meyerbeer

Catalog Description:

E.N.Welch "Meyerbeer" Calendar Wall Clock, c. 1880-90 It is a week duration timepiece without strike. The main feature is that it is a simple calendar clock which displays the numerical value of the date of the month. The movement is restored and it is an amazing timekeeper. There were very few of these clocks made. The primary function was for offices and other public places. The case is of solid black walnut stylized with incising of the Mid-Victorian period. There is an EN Welch label on the back of the case. The dial is 8" diameter with its original paper on the original dial pan. The condition of the dial is a 9.5 on a scale of 10. The pendulum stick is original and has been reblackened. The case was refinished years ago and retains its beautiful walnut color. At the very bottom of the case is a very slight bruise on the wood; if it wasn't mentioned it would go on unnoticed. 39" length, 14" widest point, 5 1/2" deep
