Riley Whiting, Winchester Painted Tall Case Clock Korfhage tall case clock. Ithaca tall case clock. English tall case clock by John Lord of Farringdon. American tall clock - case only- in as found condition. The Synchronome Co., Ltd, London, England, {factory in Alperton}, c.1925, electro mechanical master clock, meter pendulum, in a quarter sawn oak case Ithaca Calendar Clock Co., Ithaca, NY, TALL CLOCK, 8-day, gong striking, spring mov't, visible pendulum. American, fumed oak tall case clock, probably by Ithaca Clock Co., 2-weight ladder chain movement striking on gong. C.1910. German, B+D Trademark, 2-wt gong striking tall clock with rolling moon brass dial, seconds hand below 12 and calendar above 6, in a dark mahogany case with glazed front door, and heavy lead filled pendulum. Dial with raised gilt Arabic numerals. English, R. Winstanley, Ormskirk, C.1820, painted square dial tall clock, 8-day, 2-weight, in a northern England mahogany case with flat reeded pilasters flanking the short door, dial with seconds hand below 12. English, Archibald Coats, Wigan, C.1820, a Liverpool area painted square dial tall clock with Halifax moon, 8-day, bell strike, 2-wt, the hood with broken arch pediment, eagle finial in center, and the plinth with well formed bracket feet. Reproduction dwarf tall case, in the style of Joshua Wilder, Hingham, Mass and with his name and town applied to the dial, C.1980, cherry case with turned columns flanking the dial. Scottish, unsigned, C.1840, arched dial tall clock with rolling moon, 8-day, 2-wt, bell strike, in a mahogany and mahogany veneer case with cross banded trim. American tall clock, unsigned, 8-day with rolling moon, the last repair label from 1883, Philadelphia. Mov't with well shaped plates along the top and cut out at bottom to conserve brass. The informal country case of mixed woods retains large cast door hinges and a deep broken arch. C.1825. Scottish, Robert Muir, Dulry, c.1840, painted dial, 8-day tall clock in a crotch mahogany veneer case with good proportions. And with an exceptional original dial showing figures for the 4 continents, and a scene in the arch titled English, Benjamin Ellis, Woodbridge, C.1830, Composite dial with rocking ship in the arch, 8-day, 2-weight mov't, and with seconds hand and calendar aperture, housed in a mahogany case with Gothic influence and satinwood edging. A reproduction tiger maple tall clock with scroll top and carved rosettes, full columns flanking the hood door, and quarter columns flanking the tombstone door with carved fan at top. The base or plinth of the case has matching quarter columns and well proportioned French feet. With a period [C.1830] American 8-day 2-wt time and strike movement, having a painted iron dial with Roman numerals and eagle in the arch. English, John Stevenson, Stafford, C.1770, diminutive oak cased square dial (12 Unsigned Pennsylvania Tall clock, probably Montgomery County, 8-day, painted rolling moon dial, in a cherry case with full turned columns flanking the dial, and turned spindle style quarter columns flanking the center of the case, and with 4 spindle feet. 2-wt. c.1825. New Hampshire, 8-day, 2-wt tall clock, C.1820, probably by either James C. Cole or Benj. Morrill of Boscawen, in a heavy birch case with reeded side columns w/ brass capitals, and a hood with full turned columns flanking the dial, and surmounted by pierced frets. New Hampshire, 8-Day Painted Dial tall clock (unsigned dial), C.1820, in a birch case with maple coloring, and with a scroll or broken arch top. Boston area mahogany tall case clock, C.1820, 8-day, 12 inch painted arched dial, with the later applied signature of Simon Willard. The case with fan inlays on the waist and plinth, brass stop fluted quarter columns to the waist and stop fluted full columns and fret trim on the hood. Benjamin Swan, Augusta {Maine}, C.1825, 8-day rolling moon tall clock, with painted, moon phase dial, housed in a mahogany and birch case, having a pierced fret trim atop the hood, and accented with 3 brass finials. Reeded quarter columns with brass capitals flank the waist door, and the plinth with scalloped apron and French feet. 2-weight. Austrian or So. German, a public building tall clock with auxiliary drive through the top for driving a large set of remote hands, probably a large gallery slave in a bank or department store. With a heavy cast iron plate movement, skeleton in form, similar to a street clock, and with a heavy meter pendulum. The mov't also with maintaining power and Graham's style dead beat escapement with adjustable pallets, C.1900 Ansonia Clock Co., C.1901, E. Howard and Co., Boston, International Time Recording Co., Endicott, N.Y., heavy duplex time only mvt with original day and time, punch card recorder in walnut case with Arabic numeral metal dial and two wind indicators, c1920 English, Reproduction Celpsydra or water clock, classic Anglo design with a cylinder that drips water into a cistern below, and then the water is re-transferred to the cylinder for Dwarf tall case, reproduction of the Nathaniel Mulliken style, using a Seth Thomas No. 2 movement, a nicely made country style mahogany case with dovetail construction. Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn, 30-hour wooden works tall clock, 2-wt, with case restorations. C.1825. Mahogany grandmother clock, with a signed, period Howard and Davis, Boston, regulator movement, with 70 beat pendulum, and painted arched dial. C. 1970. Connecticut 30 hr, wooden works tall clock, unsigned, w/ Riley Whiting type movement, 2-wt, 30-hr, C.1825 Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn, 30-hour wooden works tall clock, in a country case that has been English, 8-day, painted dial tall clock, 2- weight, in a pine case stained a maple color, C.1840 American, fumed oak tall case clock, probably by Ithaca Clock Co., 2-weight ladder chain movement striking on gong. C.1910. Silas Hoadley, wooden works tall clock, 8-day, in a country pine case with restorations. C.1825. English, Yorkshire area tall clock, wide case with short door, and with 20 Bert Francis Wood, Winchester, NH, 8-day, time and bell strike, wooden movement tall clock, No. 16. History: a contemporary of Charles Alvah Smith (Vt), Wood lived in Winchester, NH. He made around 40 clocks in his lifetime, including 12 tall clocks and 28 banjo clocks, one of which can be seen in the Winchester, NH Historical Society Museum. A cousin to our tall clock was made especially for the Town of Winchester, and still stands there in the town library. C.1930. Unsigned New Hampshire tall clock, 8-day brass works, painted dial, in a cut-off case. C.1830. German, L. Furtwangler and Sons, Furtwangen, a dark oak, arts and crafts tall clock, often called Jugendstil in Germany, 2-wt, pull wind, 8-day, serial No. 9174, C.1915 English, Thomas Radford, Leeds, Brass dial, 8-day tall case clock, 2-wt, bell strike, C.1770 English, Thomas Hunter, Jr, London (156 Fenchurch St, 1761 -- 1802), arched brass dial 8-day tall clock in a typical London style mahogany case. C.1790. Mahogany tall case, with ball and claw feet and double columns on the hood, probably by Colonial, now with a W. H. Durfee 9-tube movement (signed on rear of rolling moon), and with Waltham signed tubes, all C.1910 English, Peter Faichney, Leith, brass dial Georgian, mahogany long case clock, 8-day, 2-wt, in a London style case with long molded tombstone door, and reeded side columns with stop fluting and brass capitals (on both trunk and hood), and the plinth with a raised panel, C.1790, American tall clock, unsigned, 8-day with rolling moon, the last repair label from 1883, Philadelphia. movement with well shaped plates along the top and cut out at bottom to conserve brass. The informal country case of mixed woods retains large cast door hinges and a deep broken arch. C.1825. Waltham Clock Co., Waltham, Mass, model 561 (numbered 19242-561) with heavy No. 52 five tube movement and No. 3 arch dial with rolling moon and cast brass decorations, 3-wt, quarter chime hall clock. English, for Tiffany and Co by J. J. Elliott, London, inlaid mahogany tall case clock, time and gong strike with rolling moon, 2-wt, C.1900 English, Martin Ellwood, Londini Fecit, uncommon and desirable 10 inch brass dial quarter striking movement, 8-day, in an attractive, well proportioned, purpose made tall case with book matched burled walnut veneer, cross banded panels on the sides, and barley twist columns to the hood. The large and robust movement has finely turned baluster pillars, count wheel on the rear plate (cut to strike the quarter hours) on two bells, the hours on a single bell. This is an unusual feature not commonly found on clocks of this period. The dial features a calendar aperture at 6, exquisitely matted center with finely ringed winding holes, a seconds ring and finely pierced hands of the period. C.1690. Foster S. Campos, Pembroke, Mass, Roxbury style Grandmother clock with rocking ship dial, bell strike, 8-day. C. 1990. American Case only, custom made to match a mahogany parlor set, with a bow front, slide-out door, will fit most any large movement with 12.3
